How can i get my itunes library to work on my new computer?

I got a new comp. and when i plug my ipod in nothing happens how do i back up itunes library and music? If its a download it HAS TO BE FREE.

Apple provide a special proceedure to transfer your iTunes library from one computer to another. Actually there are few articles here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329 http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751 It's best to use the official method as suggested by Apply, but there are plenty of unofficial and sometimes illegal methods knocking about on the Internet. Just search for "Transfer iTunes Library" on your fave search engine and you'll find the info. I do not condone doing anything illegal. Just do what you need to do to transfer your files from one PC to your new PC.
