How do you get rid of a Rundll error message?

Rundll Error Hotplug.dll?

Whenever I start my computer I get an error window and then a black screen. The message says "rundll error Windows/System32/Hotplug.dll Access is denied." I can only start my computer in safe mode and im at a loss for what to do. I am running Windows 7 and I very recently had a TDSS virus and some other problems so I had to go rooting around in my computer. I have also restored my computer to before that was happening, ran two start up repairs, and done virus scans. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Type msconfig into run or the search line and open this up. Go to the startup tab and disable everything. This should cause the problem to go away when you start up. Then slowly reenable things until it happens to find which one is causing it. If this doesn't work, it's possible the program creating that error is starting up another way, possible via registery or startup folder.

The most simple way is: Download Hijackthis utility: http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ Run it - Find line that contains /System32/Hotplug.dll and click Fix. After next reboot error should disappear. Also try something called Rundll Fix Wizard (never tried it): http://www.rundll-exe.com/ After fixing error scan you PC with quality antivirus. Sincerely,
