How to reinstall Windows Vista?

How do i reinstall windows vista without a disk? Please Help!!?

  • I put a new motherboard in my computer and i found out you have to reinstall your OS when replacing a motherboard. The only problem is that my hard drive came with a pre-booted version of windows on it which means i don't have a disk to reinstall my OS. Please help!!

    You can use a borrowed disk, as long as it's exactly the same version of Vista. Once installed, you'll have to use the Product Key from the Windows Vista sticker that's on the processor to re-activate the copy of Vista with Microsoft again. I did some research concerning upgrading the motherboard and having to reinstall the Vista operating system. There seems to be some conflicting information on this subject. Go to the store and buy another licensed disk.

You can't, sorry. I recommend saving up and buying Windows 7 or if you don't have much money get the old but still good version XP/

I would call your pc's manufacturer,that way the disc will have all the original drivers and software for your pc, they can send you a master, or they call it a recovery disc for you specific pc,you will need, model #,serial #,build #,and just to be on the safe side, have the pc's tag with all this info in front of you when you call. I had to get a replacement set of disc's for mine, and they needed almost all the sets of numbers on that tag.

Ask a friend or family member if they have their discs. Install it that way but put your computers product key in.
