I need a good web cam recording software but it has to be free, anything I can use?

I love to sing and I want to record myself. I don't have a video camera but I do have a webcam and a microphone. I was using Webcam Max but it was a really bad quality and it had a lot of lag and it was very choppy and it didn't look or sound right. Is there any free software I can download that is good quality? Please help! Thanks!
