Best video editor for Mac?

  • Do not say iMovie. I've used it, and despite everyone else's love for it, I really don't care for it. I could never get it to do exactly what I wanted. Plus, it doesn't seem to want to edit .m4vs, which is what I need it to do. (It will for some, but not others. I have no idea why.) I really like the idea of a movie editor that allows you to create layers. I had the demo of Media Edit 3 and really liked that, but it started crashing for some reasons and I'm hesitant to buy it now. (I'm not sure if it's them or if it's because I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard) Anyone know of an editor with layers, which has comprehensible controls and a sensible layout? Nothing over $60, please but the more features the better, as always. Thank you.

    The upgrade to Snow Leopard was the problem. You are not going to find a top of the line professional video editing software for $60.00. The top of the line for mac is Final Cut Studio Pro. PERIOD
