How do I port my application to OS X?

Xerox XK35c won't print using Win2k. Error: Port is busy...Another application is using the port?

  • Can anyone help with this one? My old custom-built computer's hard drive died. So I replaced it with a hard drive pulled from another custom-built unit whose processor died. The "new" hard drive has Windows 2000 on it. Now I cannot make my Xerox XK35c multifunction printer work. When I try to use it, an error message pops up above the printer's control program box. The error message says, "Port is busy. Another application is using the port. Please try this operation later. Click OK to close the program." I have updated the drivers (from xerox's web site) and have uninstalled all other printers. The XK35c is set to print from LPT1. How could I find out what else might be using the port? I assume the "port" the error message refers to is LPT1. Or should I be going about solving this problem in some other way? Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

Try using another printer or USB port? Make sure the printer is not trying to print other documents Or close all applications except the one you need to print including apps from the system tray
