Will the .net framework 4.0 be compatible with XP?

My PC has net.Framework errors and my XP CD won't fix them what do I do?

  • When I try to install net.Framework from the CD it starts to install and them it says installation failed. And becuz of this error I can not get microsoft/windows update or download IE7 etc.....

  • Answer:

    You have to install all the updates for Windows. That will be useful to upgrade to Service Pack 3 after that you'll be able to install Microsoft .net Framework.

try connectiong to the micro soft website... there u must find net.framework i did it like that only and yeah try not to install xp sp3 many ppl have had problems with it...then its up to u if u feel u want sp3 go ahead.... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en this should get u the netframework then again have look and decide
