What microphone should I buy for all my vocals?

Please help if you can, what microphone to get?

  • ok i have been using my built in microphone to record vocals and my vocals get very distorted. I decreased the volume which helps but i still hear distortion and causes my headphones to start buzzing and making popping sounds. Why can't I use my built in microphone to sing? Isn't microphones made to catch sound, it just does not make sense and its driving me crazy. Obviously I would probably have to buy a better microphone, like a studio one. I just don't understand why those ones work and don't distort sound but my built in microphones and some other ones do. Anyone care to explain this to me? thank you. I will give best answer to anyone who explains it because I really want to know, its bugging me lol
