What format does a DVD player with a USB port play?

After burning DVD of file extension .avi in the .dat format DVD is not playing in DVD player plz help to play.?

  • I made a DVD that was files of .avi format, i've a DVD R/W, but at the burning process make a videoDVD option was available so that i choose a option to make a dataDVD. After made DVD my DVD was playing on my computer but not in the window media player but that was playing in "vlc" player, So at that time i thought this might work in my DVD player too........ But in the DVD player that was showing an error of supporting file. error was"no supporting file found", displayed,,,,,,,, can anyone help me, to resolve this problem basically can you tell me how that from where i can find my supporting file to play my DVD.... if related links found plz send me..........\ thanks in advance.............,,,,,,,,,\

I think your dvd files format is wrong, dvd format is .vob format. You can use other software burn your video files to dvd. It's free for download.
