Is ie8 actually much slower than ie7?

Do i need ie7 before ie8?

You can directly upgrade to IE8 but if you have a slow computer, IE8 would make it unpleasant to browse the Internet, you could use much faster browsers like Firefox or Chrome. You do not need to download IE7 before downloading IE8. After running IE8 you should notice faster, safer browsing, and some added features that make browsing easier. I went from IE6 tgo IE8 and everything is just as its susposed to be. They are thinking about Media Player. You have to go in order 8,9,10... NOT the case with IE, so go for the best right now and thats IE8.

No, no need to install IE7 before IE8, but IE7 doesn't have all those annoying accelerators built in.
