How do I do a dual boot with xp for my vista computer?

Dual boot windows xp and vista!!! PLS HELP 10 points?

  • So I had partitioned my harddrive and installed windows xp on my computer that already had windows vista. I used vistaproboot 3.2, whenever I would boot it would ask me if I wanted to start in vista or xp. I just reformatted my vista partition because It was running very slow and just had alot of junk on there. Now that I have reinstalled vistaproboot it is not letting me boot up in xp. I can still see the files and the drive that it is on, I am able to access all the files it just wont boot. When I try to boot it in xp it says please insert cd and to repair, I tried that and it does not fix anything, please help. thanks

  • Answer:

You won't be able to repair it using XP, you will need to first repair Vista, then correct the boot entry. Some information on the problem can be found at this site. http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista_and_xp_with_vista_installed_first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm?page=6
