Why can't I install latest iTunes version?

What OS are you using, XP or vista?... or are you a smac user Ok, windows XP, go to start, control panel, add or remove programs. locate itunes on the list, and Uninstall Itunes, this will wipe it from your pc. proceed to the .exe file of itunes u just downloaded, install it, note where the location path is. default will be, C:\programfiles\itunes\ find the executable file and open it up, your version should be 8.1 -- What version Itunes do you have on your PC ---- Unistall 1.1.5, after wards, check your C:\ to be certain it is off of your PC. Also, the name of the file that you have downloaded should be called iTunesSetup.exe when you install 8.1 - i want u to change the file location to where itunes will be downloaded, e.g C:\Documents and Settings\"your PC name"\My Documents when installed, run the .exe from there
