How do I reinstall Windows Vista on my Dell?

  • So I have been having countless problems with my computer for the past few months, and I do not have the funds to get a new one. For example, my sound totally stopped working. My Itunes don't work, and all videos have no sound and move veeeeery slowly. Anyway, I want to sort of start all over again. I'd like to uninstall Windows Vista from my computer and then reinstall it using the operating system cd that came with the computer. So how do I uninstall it? Please remember in your explanations that I am in no way a "techie" so please be very specific. Also, is there anything else you can suggest? Thanks so much!!

    buy a new computer lol dell, in my opinion, and my dad's (he's an I.T. consultant) are SHITE!!!!!!!!!!!! i had one and all I got from it was grief!! Lol

Hi, Put the windows installation cd rom into the cd / dvd rom. Re-boot the pc, that should now boot from the cd. Then see this page for instructions :- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista Arnak

If it is new within the past two years, for Vista press F8 while it is booting up, it should bring up a screen with options. There should be one for the Factory default recovery. Also check the menus to see if there is a program to create your own set of Recovery CDs, these will also put the computer back to the way it came from the manufacturer (it will take 3 DVDs). I don't know if the CD that came with it will do a Factory default recovery,but it should reinstall Vista without all the trial crap loaded at the factory.
