ya, 64 bit is always better. vista sucks though, i have vista right now and i wanna switch. you should switch to 64bit xp pro. or Linux

Almost all apps and games are optimized for 32 bits. 64bit is great for servers and databases, where more than 4GB of RAM makes a huge difference. Virtualization also loves x64 enhancements. Games and video decoding don't benefit at all with 64 bit. They already use 64 bit math using 3Dnow, MMX, SSE and the videocard GPU. There's still no 64 bit Flash player, Java64 is still in beta, etc...

just stick with 32 bit, 64 bit wont have much of an increase unless you have a core2 or i7 processor. also most programs dont utilize 64 bit yet anyway. but someday they will

vista 32 has limited ram capability.

Yes; that is the only reason (right now) to get 64 bit, because it allows more than 3 gig of RAM to function, and 32 bit does not. That extra RAM will definitely speed up your machine. Down the road, there will be other benefits to 64, as more software is written to take advantage of it.

The only way your going to be able to use that other gig is to upgrade. But when you do, your may find your computer running a little slower. So.... after the upgrade go to start and run and type msconfig. Click on the startup tab and un-check unnecessary things. To me this would be things such as automatic updates, and media players, adobe ect, ect. There is no reason for them to be running anyway and IF the upgrade slows down the computer, this will help make up the difference.
