Deleting Microsoft Word - Help Please!?

  • So I got this laptop and it had a trial of Microsoft Word. I did work on it, saved it all as 93 to 2007 documents. Now it's expired and I want to load the XP version on, which is the only full one we have. I tried, but I think I have to delete the trial I have of Word on already before it will work. Now, the question is, when I delete the trial, will the word documents saved get lost too? Sorry, I'm not so good with computers, I hope this is understandable to you computer people out there!

    Transfer your word documents on to a disk or usb drive before you uninstall office 2007, that way your will be sure. I don't think they will disappear, but you never know. Back up those files...Steve

Save your documents on safe place ,such as a new folder.And uninstall your office.

im not all that experienced myself either but i think deleting programs and files that you have saved are two totally different things, so with that said i dont think you will delete your files but now theres the question about weather or not you will be able to Open them or have a program that can open them, you know. hope that helps but lets see what other responses come in, and hopefully someone can clarify if im wrong.

I dont think you have to delete anything, it will just overide what you have or you will have both.Like I have microsoft works and word 2007 and can choose which I want to use. And Im not sure about losing your work. I mean I think its saved on a file but , Im not sure you will be able to access it without the program you used to create it.

Ok. You need to uninstall Microsoft word, not delete it. This will also delete the documents. You could send the documents to yourself by email and then save them to your xp version.

No, the documents will stay, but it doesn't matter as you make regular updates anyhow, or don't you?
