Is someone trying to hack me?
-
Hey everyone! Some of you might recognize me from this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;%E2%80%A6 Well, I got that under control. I got Malwarebytes running and I scanned, and deleted the trojans. Nothing is popping up, and my computer is a lot quicker now. I also uninstalled malicious software that the trojan installed AND I installed Norton 360. So I'm pretty safe. But today, I started getting notifications from Norton that someone/something was trying to attack my computer. It says this: "Alert level : High An intrusion attempt by -Insert IP address here-(I don't feel comfortable giving it out) was blocked." And then it gives details such as Risk name(which is NTTP Nukesploit P4ck Activity, if that helps), attacker URL, and traffic description. Now, I get notifications that an attack is being blocked ever 3-4 minutes. What's going on? Should I just leave it alone and let my Norton keep blocking it? Should I take action? Delete anything, call someone, etc...? I'm running windows 7 64 bit, by the way.

Answer:
No need to do a thing. Norton will block the program from doing anything to your computer. The reason Norton or any other anti-virus program alerts you of possible harm is... 1. If you are not trying to downlad anything and a warning pops up then its safe to delete the file or allow Norton to deal with it. You are safe. 2. If you are trying to download a program you trust and a warning pops up then you can tell the anti-virus to ignore. 3. If you are not sure and a warning pops up, then you can have it Quarantined...the antivirus locks it up so nothing can happen....but if you find out in the future that the file is OK you can restore the file to work on your computer. You are still safe No need to panic or call anyone, the software is doing its job. Thats what you paid for :) Cheers
