How do I view pictures from a disk?

Pictures lost when i updated to windows 7?

  • i recently dropped my laptop while it was turned on & damaged the hard disk. i took it to the computer center at my school and one of the techs backed up my info & replaced my hard disk. i used to have vista & now i have windows 7. all my documents and music and everything is fine, except my pictures. when i opened the photo gallery, the only pictures available were the sample pictures. but on the left taskbar where you can view pictures by the date they were taken, all the exact dates when i took my pictures are there. but whenever i click on them, no pictures so show up. is there any way i can get my pictures back or is this just a lost cause? thanks for you help in advance!

Pretty much a lost of all your pic's if they are there in your "my pictures" folder but just showing a blank icon try uploading them to say myspace facebook twitter or someting then take a look at them there still blank huh? right click and press "save picture as" now type in the name of the pic and right on the buttom of where you type the name there should be something that says "save as type" look for that and it should say "jpeg" "jpg" if it says :jpeg change it to bitmap "bmp" now save the picture and you should see it correctly lol
