My local print spooler print service is not running. What should I do?

I'm using HP Laser Jet 1020 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. I installed the printer driver and it worked properly until suddenly I can't even open the print menu on any software like Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat 9. A window popped out asking me to add a printer as if I haven't had any connected to the computer. When I click add printer it says "Windows can't open Add Printer. The local print spooler service is not runnng. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine". I restarted the machine but I still can't use the printer. I don't know what is a spooler and how to restart it. Is there a problem with the printer or Windows software? What should I do?

Hey buddy, your print spooler services needs to be started. for that just goto Start> Run > CMD and press enter, then type 'net start spooler' you can read more on print spooler service error on from the source link

Firstly un-install the printer drivers and then restart the machine. Again install the printer driver and try to take print out. If still there is problem find out for virus affection to ur system. if u r not having any antivirus software, then format the disk completely and install the os and then antivirus and then all other softwares.
