Video made on a mac won't play on a pc?
-
I copied video off a friend's mac - it's a really recent model - onto my windows vista. It's a quicktime file (.mov) and quicktime tries to open it, but then it flashes up a message saying that additional components may be needed to play the file. It directs me to a page on apple with loads of codecs etc, but I have no idea which to download. When I try to play the video (after clicking continue) it plays a black screen, but it can play the original sound. Can anyone help? I can't get to my friend's mac again.

Answer:
1. Your computer may miss the code, download and install K-lite code pack may fix the problem. 2. Or you may convert the quicktime video to wmv video, then you can use windows media player to play it on PC. If you don't know how to convert video, I think this step by step direction would help you a lot http://www.freedvdripper.net/guides/convert-video-to-ipod-psp-zune-cell-phone.html Hope it helps. The reason you can’t put your itunes movie on your dvd is DRM protected,so you need to remove it. Many users want to burn DRM protected iTunes videos/movies/TV shows to DVD playable on home DVD player and enjoy on the widescreen TV. I know you can enjoy iTunes movie on TV with Apple TV, but why do you do it by yourself with some easy software.? You may try this DRM removal software, t can remove drm from iTunes, Zune Marketplace, Napster, Rhapsody, Music Giants, Bearshek, DRM protected media formats, and convert these protected or non protected formats to all common media formats then play on any PMPs. Windoze is about 5 years behind Apple. You may need the MPeg-4 and/or the H.264 codec.
I'd suggest getting VLC media player I haven't found a video file it hasn't been able to play
