My full screen mode won't work.

I get a black screen after the loading screen on vista. Safe mode doesn't work either?

  • After the loading screen on Windows Vista (the one that has the green bar but no Windows logo), I just get a black screen. I have tried using safe mode but the same thing happens. I just got this computer about a month ago, and have no files im worried about losing. I tried to re-install vista but noticed they didn't give me a 25-digit code. My question is.... How do I fix this? And is the code 100% required to re-install vista from a disc? thanks in advance for the help

try holding the power button on your computer down for about 10 seconds and shut the computer off that way.. im talking the button on the tower or the lap top.. not like you would normally shut it off after you do that unplug it for about 5 min and try to start it back up.. i had the same type of problem
