Is there any way to speed up torrent download?

My bit-torrent download speed only goes up to about 20kbs, is there any way to Speed it up?

    1) Make sure you're seeding / have a good share ratio 2) Ensure there's enough upstream speed for acknowledgement packets - don't saturate it with uploads 3) Don't allow so many simultaneous connections that they each run too slowly 4) Optimise your overall connection e.g. if you use DSL, try disconnecting un-needed telephone extensions

go to preferences and change upload speed to something smaller than your speed at home also change number of connections for uploading and increase speed for downloading see easy

Meh, I tried some Speeding-up guide. Ended up trying desperately to undo this since it went from 100kbps to 20kbps...Finally did it and I'm now happy with my good old 100k

ramonford, please know what you are talking about before responding. Your download speed problem can be - your are downloading too much and your aren't seeding. Bit torrent is based on a download/upload ratio, the more you download and not upload. It will decrease your speed delibrately, So start seeding some of your downloads. - you haven't configured your download and upload speed in preferences - ISP can sometimes delibrately slow down your connection when it detects you are using torrent software
