Why did the sound on my HDMI stop working?

How to fix it? The sound in my computer stop working...?

  • After I visited a trusted site that requested to load a certificate or something like that, my sound started working strangely. One day, it was unable, I fixed it. The other day, the volume was completely down. The other day, it changed the sound playback and recording default to a different device. Now it is back to SB Live! Wave device, but there is no other option to change it to. The other day it just stopped working all together. No sound at all. My OS – Windows XP. My computer Compaq Presario. I went through the Help & Support troubleshooting, but it didn’t fix the sound. Please help with step-by-step... :)

    go to start button then look for system tools . find system restore. ,, restore back to 7 days. then you reboot. see if that fix it.. if not then download this program.. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ it check see if you have any trojans. its free

did you go to start and go to control panel and then u will see sound speeches and audio and you no where to to go from there
