Why can't my computer see the images?

Can't open the pictures on my computer that say shortcut on them? Any suggestions-I see the thumbnails.?

• I plugged my phone into the computer becasue I wanted to make the pictures safer and because I wanted to free-up space on my phone, anyway I did this by opening the phone from the computer and went to the folder where all of my pictures are at and instead of using the copy and paste feature "which i should have done" i used the send to option and sent them to my desktop" Now I cant even view them, all I see is the thumbnail images. Thanks for any help

  the sent to desktop function makes shortcut so if you have deleted the pictures from your phone, the only thing you can do is recovering them which can only be done if the pictures save into an SD or micro SD card, otherwise i guess you don't have any choice.
