HELP!!! How would install Windows ME on a computer that has WIN. 2000 - So that you can upgrade to Windows XP?

Ok i know what i am doing is NOT illegal ... What i am trying to do though is that i have a computer that has Windows 2000 on it and i want to upgrade it to Windows XP. The only Problem is that i have a UPGRADE CD from WINDOWS ME! and i dont have Windows ME i have Windows 2000, So what what i was wondering if that i got me a Windows ME installation CD for to install on my other computer so that i can Upgrade to Win. XP - But when i tried to just see if it would install on the Win. 2000 (TO INSTALL XP NOT WIN ME TO SEE IF IT WOULD WORK)- Didnt work though - I know that Windows ME is older then Windows XP and i am afraid that since Win. Me is older then Win.2000 that it wont install - So what do i need to install Win. ME to install a Upgrade to Win. XP !! AFTER I HAVE WIN XP INSTALLED, ACOURSE I WONT NEED WIN ME ANYMORE! :) PEASE HELP!!! AND THANK YOU ALL!

It is possible to upgrade from windows 2000 to windows xp you know. P.S. Windows ME is gay you cant play any programs (just a few) and windows 98 does more.

Hi, I've marked your question to keep en eye on it, as I was a little confused whether you had managed to get a full vesion of ME or not. If you were attempting to upgrade 2000 to XP Home edition this is the reason it would not have worked, because you can only upgrade Windows 2000 to XP PRofessional. Windows ME and 2000 were both released in the same year, although Windows ME has many bug issues and known as "Mistake Edition". So then Microsoft released Windows 2000 which is more stable, then it came Windows XP in the year 2001. In this case, you can directly upgrade from Windows 2000 to XP.
