Photoshop; using painting tool to bring up contrast?
-
I want to paint over a small area in such a way as to increase the contrast. I don't want a global change, the area is a pain in the... to select, but would be easy to pick out with a painting tool. This isn't a sponge/dodge/burn as these increase the area covered, with the corresponding effect, but I want dark, darker and light, lighter. What's annoying is, I'm sure I've done this and I thought I knew PS pretty well... Ideally what I want is to paint over something in such a way as increase the contrast like the brightness/contrast slider. Thanks, Brandon

Answer:
Don't bother with Photoshop. I hope you didn't pay for it. Anyway, download GIMP. It is much simpler to use and imho, it's more user friendly.
