Why do attachments only download to 96%?

I have Free Download Manager, version 2.1 build 498. Whenever i try to download attachments such as those within an e-mail, it gets as far as 96% and then wont go any further! I can't view attachments and i cant download software! Any advice in simpleton language please!

try just keeping your email open, sometimes your computer can get bogged down which causes the file to cancel the download.
Simple. Turn off Free Download Manager.
