Why won't iTunes install?

Itunes wont let me install due to a file missing?

  • i uninstalled quicktime by mistake then itunes just couldnt run so i uninstalled itunes and re downloaded the installer from apple.com. now all that it does is it runs untill a point where it says "There is a problem with this windows installer package.a program required for this install to complete could not be run.contact your support personnel or package vendor." i downloaded the itunes installer thing from apple once last week and once today its the latest version and downloaded the same version twice

    it's a little risky to do but if you dont delete anything you arn' t supposed to you will be fine go to start>run then type regedit and hit the enter key open up all the folders and look for all the folder with itunes and quicktime after that they should install fine hope i helped =)

ok look, delete all quicktime and itunes programs, delete the installation file, run CCleaner (if you dotn have it, download it free from the official site http://www.ccleaner.com/ ) and run a registry clean, after that, download from the quicktime page, the pack with itunes and quicktime together last version and install it, you should have no problem hope it helps ;D
