Create a matrix in Excel?

  • I want to create a matrix on a worksheet in excel that updates automatically when i change the values on a separate worksheet. The matrix will have an X and Y axis that represent a value between 1 and 5. ex. of matrix... 5 6 7 8 9 10 4 5 6 7 8 9 3 4 5 6 7 8 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 . 1 2 3 4 5 I have two columns in excel, E & F, labeled Severity and Vulnerability, respectively. When i have a 2,1 data point, i want to put a specific word (from column C) on the matrix in the correct location. I was thinking each cell would be a different point on the matrix unless someone has a better idea. I have about 30 rows so far and will be adding periodically. I would like this to update as i add data points. Any thoughts?? Thank you!!!!

    Something is not clear here. What is the association of Column C and 1,2? also at the beginning you told us there are values between 1-5 and in your example there are different numbers too. Are you after some data entry thing you give it the row and column number in one cell and the value to be stored in the other then find the exact cell in the other sheet and store the value?
