Can I play The Sims 3/Windows XP/Vista games on Windows 7 Home Premium?

HP only has Windows 7 and I'm unsure if I'm able to play The Sims 3, Windows XP, or Windows Vista games on Windows 7 Home Premium?
Answer:

If it works on Vista, it will work better on 7. If it was written for XP, it will be shakey on 7 Home Premium, unless your get professional or ultimate, which have XP compatibility mode. The Sims 3 works perfectly on 7.

The program will update . Install the base Sims 3 and start it up . It will auto update . All the addon's will do the same .
