Can you use remote assistant to control another computer?

• ok so im trying to figure out if remote assistance can be used to control another computer....as a autism specialist im trying to do the less confrontational way to deter a student from going to sites like disney lol and stay on the web site specified...anyways this student does not need someone constantly on him so i was wondering if remote assistance will help me with this?

  Are you referring to the built in windows software? Because remote assistance is meant for more the person whom you want to control, asking for it. Other software is better for this purpose, such as Team Viewer, and VNC. These have to be pre-installed on the computer though and setup ahead of time. Most programs though, allow the user to disable or shut it down though. If you know specific websites that this person likes to visit, and you would like to block them, you can use the parental control settings on the computer ahead of time and block certain websites. Although, I suppose if you set it up beforehand, and left it on the whole time this person was using the computer, then you could use it for this purpose, but it requires a password unique to each use, which is created by the host computer/the computer you want to control.
