Microsoft Access 2007 help needed. How do I create a self-join using either SQL or the design view?
-
I am trying to create a self-join using the same table but keep running into difficulties. I am a novice when it comes to Access so I could really use some help. I am really good with Excel, especially Pivot Tables, but they just won't suffice. Access is way more comprehensive and thorough but I just can't seem to figure out how to join the table to itself. Perhaps a blank SQL template may help me get started. Many many thanks in advance!!!

Answer:
You can NOT join a table to itself. There is no reason to do this as the only reason for a join is to link 2 or more tables by a particular field.
