How to merge shapefiles?

Mail merge with MS office?

  • I have just set up a simple network at work. I have a desktop computer with xp and a laptop computer with vista. I'm using MS office to mail merge my receipts. I insert customer details on the excel and merge it to a receipt in word. It was fine when it was all done on the desktop computer but now I want to be able to do it via the laptop through network. Ok so I have the short cuts to the files (word and excel which reside in the desktop) on my laptop I set up the merge on the laptop but when I go to merge the info on my desktop I have to config the merge file again and if i do that and go back to the laptop i have to config the merge file there again too. How can I set it up so i dont have to tell the comps were the database file is every time i switch computers?
