  • Is there a macro program that runs in a specific process leaving the computer free to do other tasks in other windows. like while you are creating a macro you select what process or program the macro will run in and then when you run it you can do other things on your computer. for example, say i want to make a macro to open a program doing this and that and could possibly take a long time. but i don't want my machine tied up i want to be able to then open my web browser and surf the net while i waited for this macro to finish are there any macro programs that currently do this?

  • Answer:

Macros are NOT the same as "Scheduled Tasks", which is likely what you really want. Start > Help and Support, then, in the Search Box, search for "Scheduled Tasks". Need more info? Google is your friend, and here's just one example:

Windows is multi-tasking. Run the program that's going to take a long time. Then run anything else you want to run - at the same time.
