How to get file properties from a post request using Slim?

How do i delete a file on my desktop that "doesn't exist"?

  • I have a file stuck on my desktop, that no matter what I try, I can't get rid of. If I try deleting it, I get an error saying, "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk." I have tried using the program MoveOnBoot, as well as using a command promt, and even tried safe mode. None of that worked. The file has no extention, nor can I give it one. It also has a size of 0 bytes. I can't change any of it's properties (read-only or hidden status), I can't change it's name, and I can't change what program it opens with. I can create a file with the exact same name as it though. If I do that, I can delete either the new file, or the old file, but I can't delete both, only one of the two. If someone could help me with this problem, that would be awesome. Or at the very least, if someone could point me to a good tech forum where I could look for help.

    Did you try restarting your computer? You should restart your computer then try to delete the file...and if it still didn't work, you could try downloading the file again, delete the file on your Desktop, and uninstall it.

You might try SystemRescueCD (http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page). It's a Linux utility (but usable on Windows PCs) that will give you access to your file system and hopefully allow you to delete the offending file. It's similar to a command prompt, but it comes up before Windows even loads and should allow you to solve the problem. Good luck!

try putting both file in a folder and deleting the folder instead. it may work. I have had this happen before and have used a file shredding program. try doing a search too. you may have the file hidden somewhere else, or you want to do a virus scan too. it may be a worm that is replicating itself.
