Do I need Windows Media Player?

I need a good media player for windows.?

  • I shall not use itunes. i usually use windows media player but a weird error has occured an di need a replacment until i fix it. i have windows 7 64 bit. It need to have: a low memory footprint Look decent Easy ui to find music and other standard ****. one who suggest best media player gets 10 points and whatever else liek if u want me to answer your question or anything liek that...ok 1 2 3 GO!

I agree with Lou Hernadez. VLC is a great player (and it's free). Windows media player is a truly horrendous piece of bloated software. IMO, it doesn't meet any of your requirements (low memory footprint, looks decent, easy UI). VLC isn't the only media player, but there are so many great media players out there that are better than the one Windows comes with. Edit: I confess that I stopped using Windows media player around version 10. It might've gotten better; nevertheless, if you enjoy and like wmp, that's really all that matters. It does have some features that VLC lacks (notably, VLC doesn't seem to be able to easily loop videos/audio, which is kinda lame).

I like winamp :-) thousands of skins, so it can look however you want, plugins, so it can so whatever you want, and so on :-) I'd say small memory footprint as well.
