How to find your location on android programmatically?

Making iPhone and android apps?

• I work at a medium sized, but growing, grocery store. Im just a bottom of the totem pole stocker, but i had the idea to create an iPhone and android app that, when scanned a bar code, would tell the user the exact location in the store on a store map. This could be used by the stockers to quickly get our jobs done, but also have a search option for shoppers to quickly see if we have the item, and find it in our store. I just need help getting pointed in the right direction to make this app. Things like websites or programs to make these apps are what im looking for. And any advice is appreciated. I really want to impress my boss with the idea and a base so that he will trust me with the store inventory codes and lists to actually finish the app up.

  for the iphone, you need a mac so you can compile the code because you need an apple to compile for an apple. if that makes sense. XD im not sure the program used for the iphone though. but for android, you can start by downloading "eclipse". that is the program used to make apps/games for andriod OS. you should also learn javascript. i believe that is the main language used to program android apps.
