What is the best way to learn php? ?

  • I used to do website in html and css and occasionally used asp, then I stopped doing them. I want to pick it back up and it seems like most people want php sites. Are they really better? My typical client was an individual who wanted a personal/family site or small businesses that wanted an informational website. What is the best way to learn php? What other languages/programs are considered industry standard now? I use notepad to design and photoshop for graphics.

Yes, PHP can be quite versatile. I would suggest taking a class at a community college or simply buying a PHP manual and just doing little projects...teaching yourself...using Google or You Tube for tips and help. Java is actually getting to be quite popular.
