How view hidden programs/files?

i share this computer & me and my cousin are always on a mission to expose each other. so he said he installed a hidden program which i think recovers deleted files or records activity. i honestly dont know. but he said i will never figure it out. ive already tried cheaking the "show hidden files,folders,or drives" but it doesn't work. no new programs have showed up . help .. ?
