If you installed Bearshare you should uninstall it and the Mediabar program that comes with it. Are you using Firefox? 1. Click on Tools > Add-ons and remove the Wincore Mediabar and DataMngr addon if they are there. Restart the browser. 2. On Firefox's search box, click on the pull down arrow and select Manage Search Engines. Select the unwanted "Search Results" and remove it. 3. Change the homepage if it is still using Bearshare. 4. On the URL box, type "about:config" (w/o the quotes). Promise to be careful. In the filter box, type "search" (w/o the quotes). 5. Right click on each of the following if they exist and select Reset: browser.search.defaultenginename browser.search.order.1 browser.search.selectedEngine keyword.URL If you are using Google Chrome: 1. Click on Customize and control Google Chrome icon and select Options. 2. Change Google Chrome homepage to google.com or any other. 3. Click the Manage search engines... button 4. Make google.com your default search engine. 5. Select Web Search from the list remove it by clicking the "X" mark.
