Need a free way to convert a .GIF to a .SWF file?
-
I created a .GIF animation today but the presentation software I'm using doesn't accept .GIF files, only .SWF. I used GIMP to create the animated .GIF but there doesn't appear to be a way to export it as a .SWF file from within that software so I was hoping for some sort of "connector" software to take my exported animated GIF and convert it into the .SWF file that my presentation software can use. My requirements: 1) No/Little Loss in quality 2) Software must be Free (or a free trial) 3) Must convert ALL of my animated GIF (found a few free trials that only would convert 50% of my GIF) Other Info: 1) I don't have Shockwave Flash Editor or Photoshop to do it myself 2) It is an Animated Gif, not an image GIF 3) The presentation software is Prezi.com (awesome browser based presentation application if you haven't seen it already) Thank you in advance for your help! -Ryan

Photoshop (as far as I know) doesn't convert gif to swf either. I did a quick search and all the gif to swf converter software I found was all under 20 bucks. Cheapest was $12... sooo... splurge a little. It's cheaper than buying Flash to convert it that's for sure. lol Sorry, I couldn't find a free version either, but if you need it that bad... $12 is probably worth it. I just typed in "gif to swf converter" and found a few.

Go to www.adobe.com and download a free trial of Flash CS5. Shouldn't have any troubles at all.
