Why won't my signature show up in reply emails?

Why don't the pictures show up when i try to create a custom HTML email signature in windows live mail 2011?

  • Ok, i use the new email program, Windows Live Mail 2011, and heres what i did: in the create-an-email window, i wrote down some stuff and put in some pictures (like the facebook button, etc.) to use as links to my online accounts. i saved it all as an HTML document, and then went to OPTIONS in the email program and selected the HTML file to be used as a signature for my emails. but when i tried to enter my signature into an email, all my text came up but the pictures didn't! the program said that they couldn't couldn't be found. could someone explain why this happens and tell me how i can do it the right way so the pictures show up? thanks!

  • Answer:

It has to do with file linking in html code. You need to make sure that the code as seen in the email are the precise links to files that it can reach. Example, Facebook only authorizes certain employments of their buttons. If you do not use their code structures, it may be blocked. Additionally, if you are linking to something in an email that references pictured located behind a logon profile, they will not be found bec the email does not have access to your logged-on accounts. Finally, verify the html links in the live copy of the email exactly resemble the location of the files they are supposed to be linking to. Often when you move code between off-line to on-line or between applications it can be modified by various processes in the incoming application.
