I am trying to find a website that will allow me to customize the site?
-
I recently paid somewhere around $20 to webs.com to build a site with a custom name and everything. Unfortunatly I do not like the layouts they have to chose from, nor do I like the layouts they have to offer on any of the other websites I have seen. I am trying to find a site that will let me customize everything, most importantly the Header/Banner. I'm not worried about monthly maintnance fee's as long as they are not completely rediculous. Does anyone know of a site that will allow me to do this?

Yes, I really don't recommend Webs. Adobe Dreamweaver is an option, but there are many other options. All of the following web hosting providers provide a Site Builder: JustHost - http://www.justhost.com iPage - http://www.ipage.com Fat Cow - http://www.fatcow.com Bluehost - http://www.bluehost.com Host Monster - http://www.hostmonster.com InMotion - http://www.inmotionhosting.com You can find more information about all of them here: http://www.top10bestwebsitehosting.com Or, you might also want to give WordPress a shot: http://www.wordpress.com WordPress is a blogging system, although it allows you to create new and unique pages and has provides pretty convenient controls for the user. Another one, similar to Webs, grants a bit more control, and can be tried out for free: http://www.weebly.com Last, but not least, here is a link to Adobe Dreamweaver: http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver.html Hope this helped, good luck!
you should first get a domain name and a web hosting that will cost you around 60$ to 80$ per year for both and then use w3school to learn about hw to make a website and also try wordpress and joomla
Your best bet is to learn how to write you own html/css, then you can make your site anyway you want .it Webs.com dose allow that,They do have a site builder, you do not have to use the templates. All the hosts and servers are the same,if you chose to use their templates,..they are all pretty much the same unimiginative choices and very limited. Here I did not use templates, http://www.garryspages.webs.com there are many others, much better then mine, that all depends on your imagination, and taste, for design, once you learn enough html/csss, you can design your , own Headers,Banners, everything,....you don't even need to buy domain names, or pay for the hosting, but it is better, to use payed hosting, for example, at webs.com , I use the free hosting, how ever, they don't allow "bulk" file uploading, with the free hosting, so I uploaded everything one file at a time, Useing the payed hosts usually , gives you some better ways to make things easier. from Garry
