What is a website where there are live web shows?

How do I upload my flash website to the web using dreamweaver and filezilla?

  • Hi. I have created a site in flash, but I can't seem to get it onto the web properly. I've been looking up tutorials, and I can't seem to find a solution to the problem. I opened the .SWF file in dreamweaver, by going to insert > media > SWF. When I go to view the website in live view, the only thing that shows up is this message: 'Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player'. And then it has a link button to download adobe flash. Also, does anyone know how to upload the flash files using filezilla? I'm under a lot of pressure to get this done, but I don't know how to do it. So any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

  • Answer:

try downloading the plugin. it sounds like it it working but you dont have the right flash player. I have learned that saving the flash file for the newest player isnt always the best option, as not everyone has downloaded the new player. Try saving it a couple versions back like flash 6 or 7. Also, download the new plugin yourself and test the site then. Hopefully this helps.

You don't need filezilla to upload the files, Dreamveaver has built in FTP for that purpose. From the file menu click Site then Manage sites then in the box select "New" or "Edit" and fill in the information for your account and server. When you have your site loaded in Dreamweaver in the right hand panel, near the top, you will be able to switch between local and remote view, remote being what's on your server. You will be able to select files in the local view and FTP them to the server, including the full directory structure if need be. You can also manage what is on the server by selecting remote view. Im using Dreamwaver version CS3 your version may be a bit different but the basics will be the same.
