How much do you charge for creating a website?

Starting a website. I have lots of questions!?

  • I am thinking of creating a website for music playing. I am going to use a free hosting service and a free redirect domain until the website 'catches fire'. I am thinking of maybe 25 simultaneous users. Here are the questions I would like to ask: a. What domain name should I get? I am thinking .us for the computer-accessible version, and .mobi for the mobile-accessible version. b. What hosting provider should I use? I am thinking WebStarts.com or Webs.com c. What domain service should I use? I am thinking GoDaddy.com d. I want people to make accounts on my website. How much do I charge? I am thinking $1 or $5 per month. e. I want people to be able to download the music. How much per song? How much per album? I am thinking 10 cents per song, and $10 per album. f. What member features should I offer? I have no idea what features I want to offer. g. How should I stream the music. I am looking for something free or cheap, and if I have to pay, I want a one-time price that will not drain my wallet. h. What formats should I offer downloads in? I am thinking .mp3, and .wma where applicable. i. I want to make an iOS app for my site. How should I make it? I want something that is drag and drop, not text-only formatting. I also want this to be downloadable in the App Store. This needs to be a cheap and one-time fee, or free.

Other answers

a. You should definitely get a .com. There's no reason for a ".us" nor a ".mobi" as you can just create a mobile version of the site. b. I personally use http://hosting24.com/ c. You should also use http://hosting24.com/ . They feature a lot of great things. d. You want to start a low amount at first, then slowly raise it. e. It really depends, if it is not user made, and is a song on iTunes, or etc., you are NOT allowed to sell it, unless, you have a license to do so. f. That is your choice. g. By "streaming the music" you don't make much sense. h. .mp3 and/or .wav, those are the most supported music files. i. Same thing as I had said before. You can create one with http://hosting24.com/ And if you expect to be payed by a "drag and drop" website, that won't get you much money; you need to have a professionally designed website, with coding, such as HTML, CSS, and PHP. Otherwise, you won't get much money.
