How to find a job as a video editor?

• Ok, I'm trying to find a job as a video editor. I have used Final Cut Pro for 5 years, Avid for 2 and have worked in the post-production industry for 3 years. I had a paying job as an Assistant Editor ad probably could have became and editor but the company went under (thanks economy) and I lost my job. I seem to have no problem finding unpaid internships, hell I'm doing one right now but I can't just keep doing these internships, rent needs to be paid, food to be eaten. Plus it's frustrating/annoying only getting interviews for internships. Right now I search Mandy and Media-Match but those postings are few and far between. Every Editor I asks seems to have stumbled upon editing accidentally. I have a good resume and a reel with a lot of work on it. I just don't know how or where to look for work as a video editor. If someone could provide any help or stories of their own experiences that would be helpful.
