Is there any game like RuneScape?

How can I make a game like runescape?

  • I know it is a big goal for someone who has never programmed a game or even created one... I am looking for word based games to start then like runescape classic... But i dont know what to use or how to use it If anyone has anything please let me know thanks! -connor

    Do you have any experience in programming beforehand? Runescape, I believe, is written in Java for a start. But MMORPGs take a very large amount of time to create and maintain, even with a big team. You would also have to host servers to run it, which can be very expensive. You will defiantly need a lot of knowledge of game programming.

Well! Runescape is a game based on java so u should start with learning Java programing. After that i tip u the game engine Unity 3D there u can build 2D,2.5D & 3D and uses Java script. Then i should start to do simple 2D games (flash games that u can find on websites) and after doing some more advance games and after that even more advanced games and then u have your Runescape. //Joffe

If you've never programmed or know nothing about it, start by learning. Making a game is an overwhelming task by yourself. You need graphic artists, money, lots of time, writers (or anyone creative that put a story together).
