How can I crop a person out of one image and into another using iphoto 2009?

I have a mac and I was wondering how I would go about cropping a person out of one image and into another? I tried using the crop feature of iphoto, but it only allows me to crop things inside a box. Is there a program I would be able to download for free that does not load viruses onto my computer? This is for an exam so it's very important that I find a way to do this. Your help is much appreciated!
