What is the difference between NetBeans and Eclipse?

What is the difference between coding in Eclipse with webOS and coding in Eclipse for Android?

  • I am thinking about developing an application, and I want to know the difference between coding in Eclipse with webOS and coding in Eclipse for Android. If I code with Eclipse, will it make things easier if I want to develop the application for both platforms? And as a side note, can I use Eclipse with WinPhone7?

  • Answer:

None of that is even possible sorry.

The difference between webOS and Android is the language and toolset you use. WebOS is called that because that's basically what it is- an Internet operating system. The whole thing is just a browser, and applications are written using HTML and Javascript. Android on the other hand uses a custom version of Java. You probably can't write Windows Phone 7 apps in Eclipse. Theoretically, it would be possible for someone to write an Eclipse plug-in for C# and the Windows Phone 7 APIs, but you'd need to obtain Visual Studio anyway (because you need Microsoft's libraries and compiler to make the programs).
