How much should I charge for this?

Im currently working on redesigning a website, but have not come up with a price yet. I am college student majoring in graphic design. Its my first time designing a real website so I didnt know how much to charge. What I am doing: -creating a pdf with instructions about the layout and functionality of the website -css for the website -basic html, with the links,layout, and any static text.

If you plan to make a career in website design, then it would pay good dividends to make this first one a freebie - with the added bonus of including your own contact details, so that visitors can see how to get in touch if they like what they see. I am a kite flying nut, and several kite traders wanted simple websites, so I just did the work in exchange for goods (big momma kites) and so everybody was happy except the taxman!
