How do you install a specific version of Node.js?

How to identify Visual C++ Install in Add/Remove and what version to install over it?

  • Hello, I seek a bit of experienced help. In the course of installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking v11, I received the following error: "The installation of Visual C++ 9.0 Runtime for Dragon Naturally Speaking has failed. Setup will now exit.” That’s the background. I surmise I need to install the correct version of this Visual Runtime program. In Add/Remove programs the following is listed: “Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable – x86 9.0.30729.17” A couple of questions: -Do I uninstall the above program and reinstall a correct version? -The Dragon DVD has a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of the VCRuntime? I’m not sure which one I should install, because the Athlon 64 Processor (3500+; 2.19 GHz) is 64-bit ready, but Win XP Pro is 32-bit. 32-bit or 64-bit? If you can shed light on this, my gratitude you shall have. Thank you so much for reading this far. Niles

  • Answer:

You need to see if you can find any sort of error log that would give an indication as to why the install failed before you go any further.
